The Satsuki azalea usually blooms in May. Although the blooming period can last about two weeks, the tree is typically at its most beautiful for about five days. At the end of the blooming period, it is important to carefully remove the spent flowers and prepare the tree for the next blooming season.

The azalea is evergreen, but in winter and after blooming, the leaves may slightly change color to yellow or brown, as blooming requires a lot of energy from the tree.
